ETC Language Clubs: Dutch for Young Learners and Beyond The ETC Clubs offer a variety of Dutch-language programs designed for both young learners and those who want to improve their speaking skills. The Kinderklas series (A, B, and C) is tailored for children aged 10–14 and focuses on building a foundation in Dutch through fun, interactive lessons. Starting with simple introductions in Kinderklas A, students progress to more complex topics like hobbies, holidays, and emotions in Kinderklas B and C. To support continued learning, the Bridge Class helps transition students from Kinderklas to youth-level programs through competence training and project-based learning. For those with a Dutch foundation, Conversation Classes (A, B, and C) offer a supportive environment to practice speaking: • Conversation A: for Basic 1–2 level • Conversation B: for Basic 3–Intermediate 1 • Conversation C: for Intermediate 2–Advanced 2 Led by experienced teachers, these courses are designed to boost fluency, confidence, and enjoyment in learning Dutch.

Details

The Children’s programme is aimed at children aged 10-14 years using an active, fun and participative teaching methodology in the classroom. The programme is divided into three levels, namely Kinderklas A, B and C. Children who have no knowledge of the Dutch language can begin with Kinderklas A. The topics taught in this course are introductions and greetings, simple counting, telling the time, asking for basic information etc. In addition, the children are taught how to arrange simple sentences in Dutch (questions, negatives and basic commands) using the correct grammar etc. The vocabulary they will learn includes names of objects, colors, body parts, days of the week and months, family relations, numbers, transportation etc. All of this is taught along with how to spell and pronounce words or sentences using the correct intonation.
